Thailand Open 2026 — Satwik-Chirag pair loses in final, two-year title drought continues
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty went down in straight games in the Thailand Open final in Bangkok on Sunday, extending their two-year title drought.
Top-seeded Indian duo Satwik-Chirag lost 12-21, 23-25 to Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin in the summit clash of the BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament in 52 minutes.
Reunited after playing with different partners in the last two years, the Carnando-Marthin pair registered its first win over the Indian duo in five meetings.
Satwik and Chirag were eyeing their third Thailand Open title after being crowned champions in 2019 and 2024, the latter also being their most recent career title.
