Grand Chess Tour 2026: World Championship rivals Gukesh, Sindarov to meet in Poland event
The chess world could get a preview of what to expect from the FIDE World Championship match between D. Gukesh and Candidates winner Javokhir Sindarov later this year, when the two compete at the Grand Chess Tour’s Super Rapid and Blitz Poland 2026.
Vladimir Fedoseev will defend his title against a strong field that includes Fabiano Caruana, Alireza Firouzja and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, among others.
The tour is also set to make stops in Croatia and the United States later this year.
Each Rapid and Blitz event follows a standard high-speed format. The rapid segment is a single round-robin played over three days, while the blitz segment is a double round-robin played over two days.
