Suruchi Singh’s golden season recognised at Sportstar Aces 2026


Indian shooter Suruchi Singh was named Young Achiever of the Year (Girl) at the Sportstar Aces Awards 2026 in Mumbai on Friday after a sensational breakthrough season that saw her rise rapidly on the global stage.

In a rare feat, Suruchi made her debut for the senior Indian team and climbed to World No. 1 in the same year. The teenager enjoyed a remarkable run on the ISSF World Cup circuit, winning a hat-trick of individual gold medals in the women’s 10 m air pistol event at Munich, Lima and Buenos Aires.

She also struck gold in the 10 m air pistol mixed team event at Lima alongside Olympian Saurabh Chaudhary, with the pair adding a bronze medal in the same event at the Buenos Aires World Cup.

Suruchi, who hails from the neighbouring village of Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker, also impressed at the Asian Shooting Championships, winning bronze in the mixed team event with Chaudhary and another bronze in the women’s team event alongside Bhaker and Palak.

She capped the season in style at the World Cup Final in Doha, winning gold in the 10 m air pistol with a junior world record score of 245.1, surpassing Bhaker’s previous mark of 244.7.

The 2026 Sportstar Aces Awards are presented by Amul, co-presented by Casagrand in association with SRM Institute of Science and Technology. SBI, Christ University, Bharat Petroleum, LIC, Sports Authority of Telangana, NTPC, Indian Softball Cricket Foundation, Jaquar And Company Private Limited are associate partners.
