Anahat in Washington semis
Teenage star Anahat Singh rallied from 2-0 down to beat Egyptian second seed Sana Ibrahim in the women’s quarterfinals of the Squash on Fire Open in Washington.
The Indian World No. 31 and seventh seed fought her way back into the contest, overturning a 6-5 deficit in both the third and fourth games, to edge out the Egyptian World No. 17 8-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-7 in the PSA Bronze-level event.
Anahat will meet Sabrina Sobhy (US) in the semifinals.
Veer Chotrani lost to Declan James in the men’s quarterfinals, the sixth seed from England winning 8-11, 11-6, 14-12, 11-9.

Rayhan Thomas makes cut in Panama
Two birdies in the last four holes earned India’s Rayhan Thomas a place in the weekend rounds of the Panama Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour in the US.
Thomas, after 73 in the first round, was moving slowly with two birdies and three bogeys with four holes to go in the second round. He was then overall four-over and likely to miss the cut. He birdied the 15th and 17th and made the cut at 2-over and Tied-48th.
