ISSF Junior World Cup: 208 young shooters from 18 countries gathers in New Delhi
The Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi prepares to host the ISSF Junior World Cup from September 24 to October 2, 2025, which will feature 208 young shooters from 18 countries competing for 51 medals across 15 Olympic and two non-Olympic events.
India, the host nation, will field the largest contingent with 69 athletes, while other participating countries include the USA (20), Italy (10), Czechia (9), and Iran (8). Fourty Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN) will also be in attendance. Athletes from the USA, Great Britain, Italy, and Cyprus have already arrived and conducted unofficial training sessions.
This event marks the second and final Junior World Cup of the year, following the competition held in Suhl, Germany, in May. India topped the medal table at the previous event, securing 11 medals (3 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze).
Among the key athletes to watch are India’s own Raiza Dhillon, a silver medallist from Olympia and Suhl, and former world champion Abhinav Shaw. They will be joined by Suhl gold medallists Shambhavi Kshirsagar and Tejaswani, as well as bronze medallists Naraen Pranav and Adriyan Karmakar. International talents include Italian World Championship medallist Arianna Nimber and Croatian Trap shooter Toni Gudelj, who won bronze in Suhl.
The official opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 25, at 5 PM at the shooting range. The competition will begin on the same day with the 50m Rifle Prone events for both men and women, which will determine the first medal winners of the tournament.
