Monaco Diamond League 2025: Animesh Kujur finishes fourth as Gout Gout wins U-23 200m
India’s Animesh Kujur finished fourth in the Under-23 200m event at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday with a timing of 20.55s.
Australia’s Gout Gout won the event with a timing of 20.10s, followed by Botswana’s Collen Kebinatshipi (20.28s) and South Africa’s Naeem Jack (20.42s) in second and third.
Earlier this month, Kujur — who also holds the National Record for men’s 200m (20.32s) — broke the NR in men’s 100m after clocking 10.18s to win Heat 2 at the Dromia International Sprint & Relays Meeting in Greece, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver event. He also became the first Indian to go below the 10.20s mark in the event.
He broke the previous NR of 10.20s set by Gurindervir Singh in March earlier this year at the Indian Grand Prix 2025 in Bengaluru.
Later in the day, Avinash Sable will be competing in the men’s 3000m steeplechase event in Monaco.
