India Holds Strong in Penalty Shootout to Beat Argentina in Four Nations
The Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team clinched a nail-biting 2-0 shootout victory against host Argentina after a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time in their third match of the Four Nations Tournament in Rosario, Argentina.
Argentina started fast, with Milagros Del Valle scoring in the 10th minute. India, however, fought back. Kanika equalised in the 44th minute, keeping the match alive.
The game remained level at full-time, forcing a shootout. India’s goalkeeper and captain Nidhi turned hero, making four consecutive saves to deny Argentina.
Lalrinpuii and Lalthantluangi converted their chances, sealing the win for India.
India now aims to build on this momentum against Chile on May 30 2025.
