F1: Max Verstappen wins formula one drives championship for fourth consecutive season

Max Verstappen secured the Formula One Drivers Championship for the fourth straight year on Sunday in a season of tough competition and a not so dominant car.

Max Verstappen finished fifth in the Las Vegas Grand Prix, ahead of Lando Norris, the only driver who could have caught him in the championship.

The Red Bull driver started the race, ahead of his championship rival Norris, on fifth and needed to finish ahead of the Mclaren driver to secure the title with two races to go in the season.

Ahead of the race, Verstappen was on 393 points, 62 points in front of his closest competition.

With this win, the Dutchman becomes only the fifth driver to win four championships after Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Juan Manuel Fangio.

George Russell of Mercedes won the Las Vegas GP 2024 ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz completed the podium.
