World University Games 2025: Srihari Nataraj, Benediction Rohit set new ‘Best Indian Performance’ timings
Srihari Nataraj broke his own ‘Best Indian Performance’ timing in the men’s 200m freestyle while B. Benediction Rohit became first Indian man to swim 50m butterfly under 24 seconds during the FISU World University Games 2025 in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany.
Nataraj clocked 1:48.22, going past his previous best of 1:48.66 he set last month. He topped his heat and qualified for the semifinals set to take place later in the day.

Rohit clocked 23.96 seconds in the semifinals, breaking his own record of 24 seconds, he set hours ago during the heats — going past a seven-year-old mark of Virdhawal Khade’s 24.09s.
His first-place finish in the preliminary round earned him a spot in the semifinal where he finished sixth.
