Sindhu enters Round of 32 at BWF Badminton World Championships 2025
Indian shuttler P. V. Sindhu overcame early hiccups to beat Bulgaria’s Kaloyana Nalbantova 23-21, 21-6 in a women’s singles Round of 64 match at the Badminton World Championships on Tuesday in Paris.
The two-time Olympic medallist began on the wrong foot after conceding four consecutive points in the first game. However, Sindhu battled back took the lead in the match.
The second game was a start contrast and Sindhu had 15 match points at one point. She wrapped up the game, and the match, within 39 minutes.
Sindhu, who has five World Championships medals to her name, will face either of Saloni Samirbhai Mehta of Hong Kong China or Karupathevan Letshanaa of Malaysia in the next round.
Later in the day, H. S. Prannoy will be up against Joakim Oldorff of Finland as the mixed doubles pair of Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Gadde will face Macau China’s Leong Iok Chong and NG Weng Chi.
