Reetika, provisionally suspended for failing dope test, had returned positive result for steroids

After a few days of uncertainty, it has been learnt that Paris Olympian wrestler Reetika Hooda, who was provisionally suspended for failing a dope test, returned a positive result for steroids.

Even as news regarding Reetika’s suspension hit the headlines, there was no clarity about the substances that resulted in the positive result.

According to a reliable source, the heavyweight wrestler, a former World under-23 champion and a current Asian silver medallist, tested positive for ‘androstane and etiocholanolone.’

Reetika’s sample was collected during the selection trials in Delhi on March 15.
