Pro Kabaddi League: Top five raiders in PKL history
The latest edition of the Pro Kabaddi League kicks off on August 29, with Tamil Thalaivas taking on Telugu Titans at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag.
Leading the Thalaivas is skipper Pawan Sehrawat, among the most prolific raiders in the league’s history.
Here is a list of the top five raiders in PKL history:
Pardeep Narwal
Pardeep Narwal, who retired from the PKL ahead of the new season, bows out as the league’s all-time leading raider with 1,801 points in 190 matches. Having represented Bengaluru Bulls, Patna Pirates and UP Yoddhas, his peak came in 2017, when he amassed a record 369 points in a single season.
Maninder Singh
Maninder Singh has parted ways with Bengal Warriorz to join Patna Pirates ahead of the new season. The veteran raider is second on the all-time PKL charts with 1,528 raid points from 158 matches, highlighted by his 264-point campaign in 2021.
Pawan Sehrawat
Pawan Sehrawat, third on the all-time PKL raiding charts, has scored 1,318 points in 139 matches. He made his name with Bengaluru Bulls before later stints with Gujarat Giants, Tamil Thalaivas and Telugu Titans. His peak came in 2019, when he racked up 360 points for the Bulls.
Arjun Deshwal
Thalaivas vice-captain Arjun Deshwal sits just below Pawan Sehrawat on the all-time PKL raiding charts, with 1,174 points from 114 matches. Before joining the Thalaivas, he featured for U Mumba and Jaipur Pink Panthers, enjoying his best season in 2022 with 296 points for Jaipur.
Naveen Kumar
Naveen Kumar, a fixture at Dabang Delhi since 2018, switches to Haryana Steelers for PKL 12. The raider has 1,102 points from 107 matches, with his standout season coming in 2019, when he scored 303 points.
