Pro Kabaddi League 2025: Gujarat Giants names Jaivir Sharma as new coach ahead of PKL 12 auction


Gujarat Giants appointed veteran coach Jaivir Sharma as the new head coach of the franchise ahead of the 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi league on Wednesday.

The Ahmedabad-based team has also named Varinder Singh Sandhu as the assistant coach.

The move comes just ahead of the PKL 2025 player auction which will be held from May 31 to June 1 in Mumbai.

After finishing finished 11th out of 12 teams in the last edition, Giants aimed at building a fearless, robust and title-contending squad for the brand new campaign in season XII.

With over three decades of experience, Jaivir is among the most respected figures in Indian kabaddi. Giants will hope that he brings a wealth of experience along with tactical acumen to the leadership role.

Jaivir, who has been serving with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) since 1992, has been instrumental in shaping the careers of numerous national and international kabbadi players. Under his guidance, Indian team has clinched Gold medal at prestigious international events, including the Asian Games, Kabaddi World Cup and multiple marquee kabaddi championships.
