Pro Kabaddi League 2025: Anil Chaprana joins U Mumba as head coach ahead of PKL 12 auction


U Mumba has announced that Anil Chaprana will join the Pro Kabaddi League franchise as its new head coach on Monday.

He takes over the reins from Rakesh Kumar, who decided to part ways just days before the upcoming PKL auction scheduled to be held in Mumbai on May 31 and June 1.

“We are pleased to welcome back Anil Chaprana, this time as the Head Coach of our team,” the team said in a social media post.

Chaprana had previusly coached the side and was replaced in 2022 by Gholamreza Mazandarani. He then seved as assistant coach to Narender Redhu at Patna Pirates for a season.

In 2024, however, he returned to U Mumba as assisstant coach during PKL 11.

U Mumba shared that Chaprana has already been working closely with the players and team over the past few months, and they have ‘welcomed this decision for the team’.

“Joining him as Assistant Coach, is a highly-respected figure on the domestic circuit, Parthiban, who is known as a technically sound coach with fantastic communication skills to bring a team unit together,” the franchise said.
