PKL 2025: Ankit Jaglan named Patna Pirates captain; Deepak Singh named deputy


Ankit Jaglan will lead Patna Pirates with Deepak Singh as his deputy in the next season of Pro Kabaddi League, the franchise announced on Wednesday.

Jaglan takes over from Shubman Shinde, who has joined Telegu Titans for PKL 12.

While Deepak is the star defender for the squad and has accumulated a total of 282 tackles, Jaglan is the highest paid all-rounder and has been with the franchise for the last three years.

“Working with coach Anup Kumar has been such a great learning curve and his experience and coaching style will only take this squad further. There is no doubt that we are aiming for the ultimate prize and the entire squad knows its role and is looking forward to execute to take Patna Pirates all the way.” Jaglan said.

The three-time champion will begin its PKL campaign against UP Yoddhas on September 1.

The runner-up of the last season, the Pirates are currently training as part of their pre-season camp.
