PKL 12 — Pro Kabaddi League 2025 to begin on August 29
The 12th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will begin on August 29, Mashal Sports, the league’s organiser, announced on Wednesday.
The previous season saw the Haryana Steelers win their maiden title, and after an exciting two-day auction, the next iteration promises to be a thrilling competition.
“We are thrilled to unveil the commencement date for PKL Season 12. Following a record-breaking Player Auction, which saw 10 players cross the INR 1 crore mark, we have set the foundation for what promises to be our most competitive season yet,” said Anupam Goswami, League Commissioner of Pro Kabaddi.
Having started in 2014, the PKL has risen to become one of the most-watched sports leagues in India.
Its success has also contributed to strengthening the national men’s kabaddi team, which won gold at the Asian Games after nine years, in Hangzhou 2023.
Over the past 10 years, the PKL has had eight different champions; the Patna Pirates are the most successful team, with three consecutive titles, and remain the only team to have defended the trophy.
