Olympic medallist Summer McIntosh wins second gold at world short course swimming championships


Canadian swimming star Summer McIntosh clinched her second gold medal at the world short course championships in Budapest on Thursday with a world record time in the women’s 200m butterfly.

The 18-year-old won three Olympic medals in Paris earlier this year in the 200m butterfly, 200m medley and 400m medley.

She added her second gold of the week after winning the 400m freestyle on Tuesday by winning in 1min 59.32secs, beating American Regan Smith by 1.68secs.

“I wouldn’t say I train a lot in the butterfly,” McIntosh said. “But I have a great ability to concentrate.”

Australia’s Elizabeth Dekkers bagged the bronze medal.
