Odisha Masters 2024: Rithvik wins men’s singles title, Tanvi suffers defeat in women’s final
Rithvik Sanjeevi Satish Kumar won the men’s singles title at the Odisha Masters, a BWF Tour Super 100 tournament, in Cuttack on Sunday.
Rithvik beat Tharun Mannepalli 21-18, 21-16 in an all-Indian final in 43 minutes. World No. 78 Rithvik had won the Telangana International Challenge last month and finished as runner-up at the Sri Lanka International Challenge in February.
In women’s singles final, 15-year-old Tanvi Sharma, who claimed the Bonn International title earlier this year, went down 21-14, 21-16 to Chinese qualifier Cai Yan Yan in 35 minutes. Cai had defeated Anmol Kharb, another young Indian, to win the title at the Guwahati Masters last week.
China’s Gao Jia Xuan and Tang Rui Zhi won the mixed doubles title. Japan’s Nanako Hara and Riko Kiyosa clinched the women’s doubles crown while the men’s doubles title went to China’s Huang Di and Liu Yang.
