Narain Karthikeyan joins Ajith Kumar Racing team ahead of Asian Le Mans Series

Narain Karthikeyan, India’s first Formula One driver, will join Ajith Kumar Racing ahead of the Asian Le Mans Series, as stated in a press release on Wednesday.

The team recently announced that it will be participating in the Asian Le Mans Series, an Asian sports car racing endurance series, which begins in December 2025.

The 2025-26 championship consists of three rounds — 4 Hours of Sepang (December 12-14), 4 Hours of Dubai (January 29-February 1) and 4 Hours of Abu Dhabi (February 6-8).

Welcoming the 48-year-old racer into his team, Ajith Kumar said, “It’s truly a privilege to have Narain join the team. Racing alongside him is an honour. With Narain, this Asian Le Mans Series is something very special for all of us.”

Remarking on his long-time friendship with Ajith Kumar, Karthikeyan said he is excited to join his team for the Le Mans. “I’ve known Ajith for many years, and it’s great to see him now racing cars at a professional level.

“I’m excited to partner with him in the upcoming Asian Le Mans Series and look forward to an incredible journey ahead,” he said.

In July, it was revealed that Karthikeyan’s life will be turned into a biopic, with the movie set to be directed by acclaimed Malayalam film director Mahesh Narayanan.
