MotoGP Hungarian GP 2025: Marquez registers seventh victory in succession
Ducati’s Marc Marquez won the first Hungarian Grand Prix in 33 years at the Balaton Park Circuit on Sunday to clinch a seventh straight sprint-race double and extend his MotoGP championship lead to 175 points.
Against the backdrop of Lake Balaton, the largest lake in central Europe, polesitter Marquez lost the lead on lap one to drop out of podium positions but the six-time champion clawed his way back to retake the lead.
KTM’s Pedro Acosta and Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi joined Marquez on the podium as reigning champion Jorge Martin finished fourth — his best finish on the Aprilia since his return from injuries.
Gresini Racing’s Alex Marquez, who is second in the championship behind his brother, could only manage to finish 14th after an early fall.
