India’s fastest man Animesh Kujur will be in action at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday as he faces off against Australia’s teen sprint sensation Gout Gout.
Also in action will be long-distance runner Avinash Sable, who will take part in his pet event of men’s 3000m steeplechase.

The Monaco Diamond League 2025 will take place on Friday, July 11 at the Stade Louis II stadium in Monaco.

Who are the Indian athletes taking part in Monaco Diamond League 2025?
In the men’s 3000m steeplechase, National Record holder Avinash Sable (PB: 8:09.91) will be in action. He will be hoping to improve on his disappointing performances at the Xiamen and Shanghai legs of the Diamond League earlier this year.
Animesh Kujur, the newly-crowned National Record holder in 100m, will be up against Australia’s Gout Gout in the tournament’s Under-23 exhibition 200m. While Kujur holds the NR in 200m as well (20.32s), Gout Gout holds the NR in his country (20.02s).
When are the Indian athletes starting their events?
While Kujur will be up against Gout Gout at 11:17 pm IST in the men’s U-23 200m, Sable will start his race in the men’s 3000m steeplechase at 1:04 am IST (Saturday, July 12).

Armand Duplantis, the serial world record maker in men’s pole vault, will be in action while Dutch runner Femke Bol, who won bronze at the Paris Olympics, will be participating in the women’s 400m hurdles.
