Max Verstappen on pole for F1 British Grand Prix; Piastri in front row

Max Verstappen stitched together the perfect lap to take pole position during the British Grand Prix qualifying, which took place at Silverstone on Saturday.

This is the third instance of the Red Bull driver finishing fastest during qualifying, his third this season after Japan, Saudi Arabia and Miami.

Championship leader Oscar Piastri will start alongside Verstappen, while the other McLaren of Lando Norris will be third on the grid at his home race.

Hometown hero and Silverstone record holder, Lewis Hamilton, could only manage fourth after a poor final sector in his final lap.
