LA 2028 Olympics — India’s medal prospects, major sports India can have podium finish in at Los Angeles
The schedule for the next edition of the Olympic Games, set to be played in Los Angeles in the United States, was announced on Monday, exactly three years before the tournament.
India’s hopes of medals will bank on the usual suspects like Neeraj Chopra – Paris 2020 gold medallist — Mirabai Chanu — a Paris 2020 silver medallist — and Manu Bhaker, the first Indian to win two medals at an Olympics after independence.

The Games will have major additions in titles, including cricket, compound archery and squash, all of which will boost India’s chances of winning a medal.
The Indian men’s cricket team has won seven ICC titles, including two World Cups in each format, and the women’s team is an Asian Games gold medallist and a record champion in the Asia Cup. With the sport returning to the Olympics after 128 years, India will look to complete a double in cricket.

Despite winning three out of five gold medals at the 2023 World Championships and five gold medals at the 2022 Asian Games, the absence of compound archery always stung India. That will change in the United States in 2028.
Meanwhile, teen sensation Anahat Singh has already become India’s golden girl in Indian squash, having won two gold medals at the Asian Championships at just 17, and will look to make history in Los Angeles.
