Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson: Paul beats legendary boxer Tyson
Jake Paul stunned the boxing world by beating ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson in an exhibition match at the AT&T Stadium, in Arlington, Texas on Saturday.
In a contest which lasted eigh rounds, Paul beat Tyson by a unanimous decision, becoming only the sixth fighter-ever to beat him. Paul landed 78 punches to just 18 by the 58-year-old Tyson.
The fight consisted of eight two-minute rounds, as opposed to the normal three minutes and 10 or 12 rounds for most pro fights. Tyson and Paul also used heavier gloves — 14 ounces instead of 10.
Tyson, who terrorised the heavyweight division in the late 1980s, climbed back into the ring nearly 19 years into retirement.
The 58-year-old, who last entered a professional ring in 2005, laced up his gloves to take on Youtuber Paul, 27, in an officially sanctioned fight.
The fight, which was initially due to take place in July was postponed in May after Tyson required medical treatment on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles after vomiting blood due to a bleeding ulcer.
