India’s rifle, pistol mixed team events to begin show in Ningbo World Cup
It will be mixed events of air rifle and air pistol on the opening day of the shooting ISSF World Cup in Ningbo, China, on Tuesday.
After having made all its best shooters compete hard in the recent Asian Championship in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, with great success, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has given the chance for others to capitalise on the last World Cup of the season.
The mixed air rifle is expected to feature Ramita Jindal, Umamahesh Maddineni, Divyansh Singh Panwar and Meghana Sajjanar.
The mixed air pistol will have Rhythm Sangwan, Nishant Rawat, Amit Sharma and Surbhi Rao.
There will be 10 finals over the next five days, with sports pistol for women and rapid fire pistol for men, apart from the air rifle, air pistol and rifle 3-position events.

Gurveer through to second round PSA Challenger
Gurveer Singh fought his way past Sebastiaan Hofman of the Netherlands 11-3, 6-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-1 in the first round of the $9,000 PSA Challenger HCL Squash tournament at the Otters Club on Monday.
In the pre-quarterfinals, Gurveer will challenge the second seed Elijah Thomas of New Zealand.
In another match in the men’s section, Yusha Nafees went down fighting in four games to Shamil Wakeel of Sri Lanka.

U-19 girls’ groups conclude, all eyes on knockouts of UTT National Rankings Championships
The group stage in the Under-19 girls’ category of the second UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championships concluded at the Thyagaraj Stadium here on Monday, with 52 of the 53 group winners sealing their places in the knockout stage.
All eyes will be on Group 2 on Tuesday where Divyanshi Bhowmick, riding high after her doubles triumph in the Under-15 category with Tamil Nadu’s Ananya Muralidharan in the WTT Youth Star Contender Skopje (Macedonia), is expected to wrap up proceedings.
Divyanshi will play back-to-back matches against Diva Ahuja of Haryana and Mohana Shree of Pondicherry.
Together with the 53 group winners, the eight seeds will make up the 64-player knockout stage, setting the stage for intense battles ahead.
With the U-19 girls section almost complete, group matches in the men’s and women’s events gathered momentum. Their qualification rounds will finish on Tuesday, after which the top 16 seeds will enter the competition.

Minerva Public School, St. John High School among semifinalists
Minerva Public School, St John High School and Vidyachal International School were among the teams that entered the semifinals of the sub-junior boys (U-15) category of the 64th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament here on Monday.
Minerva Public School (CISCE) stormed into the semifinals with a commanding 10-0 win over SFS Higher Secondary School (Nagaland).
St. John High School (Jharkhand) edged past Manikpara Vivekananda Vidyapith (West Bengal) 3-2 to book their semifinal berth.
Vidyachal International School (Bihar) secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Mothers Pride Public School (Himachal Pradesh).
In the last quarterfinal, River Side Natural School (Madhya Pradesh) earned a 2-0 victory over Anand Niketan School (Gujarat).
