Rathika Suthanthira Seelan stormed into her fourth PSA final at the NSW Open in Sydney with a straight-games win over New Zealand sixth seed Emma Merson.
Second seed Rathika, semifinalist at the North Coast Open last week, did one better, by beating Merson 11-9, 11-7, 11-6 in 32 minutes in the last-four stage.
The 24-year-old from Tamil Nadu, ranked 180 in the world, will meet Canadian top seed Iman Shaheen for the Challenger event title.
Meanwhile, in Springfield (US), fifth seed and world No 51 Veer Chotrani advanced to the semifinals of the St James Expression Open, a PSA Copper event, with a hard-fought 7-11, 12-10, 11-8, 5-11, 11-6 victory over Egyptian second seed and world No 36 Mohamed ElSherbini in the quarters.

India names record 111-member contingent for 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo
India will send its biggest-ever contingent comprising 111 members, including 73 athletes, for the Deaflympics scheduled to be held in Tokyo from November 15 to December 26.
Indian athletes will take part in 11 disciplines — athletics, badminton, golf, judo, karate, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, wrestling and tennis.
The Sports Ministry has approved the contingent at cost-to-government basis.
India had returned with a best-ever haul of 16 medals, including eight gold, one silver and seven bronze, to finish ninth among 77 participating nations in the last edition of the event in Brazil in May 2022.

Bengaluru teenager, Ishaan Madesh (Peregrine Racing) underlined his dominance with a rousing win in the Senior Max category to headline the fifth round of the MECO-FMSCI National Karting Championship 2025 (Rotax Max Classes) with SIDVIN Energy Engineering as the Presenting Sponsor and MRF Tyres at the Meco Kartopia circuit in Bengaluru.
