Divyanshi wins bronze in U15 category at Table Tennis World Youth Championships
Divyanshi Bhowmick finished with a bronze medal after a loss in the semifinals of the U15 Girls’ Singles category at the ITTF World Youth Championships in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on Sunday.
In a rematch of the Asian Cadet Championships final, Divyanshi was up against China’s Zhu Qihui. However, the Indian could not match the result from Tashkent as she went down 1-4 (12-10, 10-12, 6-11, 4-11, 8-11) to the second seed.

ITTF Mixed Team World Cup: India go down in opening fixture against Croatia
India on Sunday lost its opening game at the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 6-8 against Croatia at the Sichuan Gymnasium in Chengdu.
After G. Sathiyan-Diya Chitale and Manika Batra went 1-2 down in their respective mixed doubles and singles encounters, Croatia established a massive lead with a 3-0 drubbing of Manav Thakkar at the hands of Tomislav Pucar.
A 7-2 lead meant Croatia only had to win a single game in the fourth tie to romp home, but the women’s pair of Yashaswini Ghorpade and Chitale delayed the inevitable with an 11-9, 11-9, 11-8 win over Mateja Jeger and Lea Rakovac.
Akash Pal and Sathiyan may have provided a slight scare to Frane Kojic and Ivor Ban, claiming the first game of the last tie 11-5, but the Croatian duo ensured there were no further let-ups.

Senthilkumar, Anahat start favourites in HCL Squash Indian Tour 4
Velavan Senthilkumar and Anahat Singh, top seeds and reigning men’s and women’s national champions, respectively, start as favourites in the HCL Squash Indian Tour 4, which begins at the Indian Squash Academy in Chennai on Monday.
The USD 15,000 PSA Challenger event features a mix of international and domestic contenders, including the experienced Joshna Chinappa, a former women’s world No. 10, and men’s world No. 51 Veer Chotrani.
Senthilkumar, Anahat, Joshna, along with multiple Asian Games medallist Abhay Singh, form the Indian team for the upcoming SDAT World Cup to be held in the southern metropolis between December 9 and 14.
Abhay is to compete in a PSA Platinum event in Hong Kong this week.

Sanya Vats bags maiden PSA title at JSW Sunil Verma Memorial squash
Fifth seed Sanya Vats, a two-time former junior National champion, defeated fourth seed Nirupama Dubey 11-6, 11-9, 11-4 in the women’s final of the JSW 11th Sunil Verma Memorial squash in Thane on Sunday.
It was Delhi girl Sanya’s first PSA title in what was also her maiden Challenger final.
In the men’s final, French second seed Maceo Levy beat Egyptian top seed Yassin Elshafei 11-8, 11-8, 11-4.
