Jaipur wins Kognivera Cup final, beats V Polo 5-2
The Jaipur Polo Team capped off a strong campaign in the Kognivera Cup with a composed 5–2 victory over V Polo in the final, showcasing control, discipline, and assured finishing across all four chukkers to lift the title.
Jaipur dictated the tempo for large periods of the contest, steadily building pressure and capitalising on key moments.
The final began on an even footing, with both sides feeling their way into the game. V Polo opened its account early, matched soon after by Jaipur, as the first chukker ended level at 1–1, setting the tone for a competitive encounter.
Jaipur began to assert itself in the second chukker, edging ahead through better ball movement and sharper finishing. A goal in the latter stages helped Jaipur take a slender 2–1 lead into halftime.
The third chukker proved decisive as Jaipur stepped up the intensity. Lance Watson led the charge with clinical conversions, while HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur controlled play effectively, helping Jaipur extend its advantage to 4–1.
V Polo attempted a late resurgence in the final chukker, adding a goal through its attacking duo, but Jaipur remained composed under pressure to close the game out at 5–2. Watson emerged as the standout performer for Jaipur with four goals.

Services crowned champion at 43rd Senior National Rowing Championships
The 43rd Senior National Rowing Championships, held from January 27-31, took place at the Army Rowing Node under the Mission Olympics Wing of the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune.
Services emerged as the overall champions, securing eight gold medals, RFI Team finished second overall with three, while Madhya Pradesh claimed third position with two gold.
Summing up the championship, the President of the Rowing Federation of India, Shri Balaji Maradapa, said, “Over three days, we witnessed exceptional racing, remarkable determination, and a consistently high standard of performance across all categories.
“I congratulate all the winners and commend every participant for their effort, discipline, and commitment, which have collectively raised the benchmark of Indian rowing.”

Chhattisgarh Open to kick off new PGTI season
Domestic regulars, including Veer Ahlawat, will vie for top honours when the Chhattisgarh Open kicks off the new season of the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India at the Fairway Golf & Lake Resort in Naya Raipur on Tuesday.
The prize purse for the event, which stood at Rs. 1 crore in its inaugural edition last year, has been increased to Rs 1.5 crore this season.
The tournament will feature a field of 126 professionals, with the top 50 players and ties making the cut after two rounds.
Apart from Ahlawat, Chouhan and Manu Gandas, other leading Indian professionals in the fray include Angad Cheema and Arjun Prasad. The field also comprises 16 foreign professionals representing nine countries.
Last week, the tour announced a multi-year partnership with DP World, under which the global logistics firm became the Title Partner and Official Umbrella Partner of India’s premier professional golf circuit.
