India vs Pakistan head-to-head record in hockey: Arch-rivals set to clash at FIH World Cup 2026


India men’s hockey team on Tuesday was drawn against Pakistan in Pool D of the FIH World Cup 2026, set to take place from August 15 to 30 in Belgium and the Netherlands.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides since the 2024 Asian Champions Trophy in Hulunbuir. India had won the contest 2-1.

Before that, India had thumped Pakistan 10-2 during the 2023 Asian Games. The two were set to meet during the Asia Cup in 2025 but Pakistan pulled out of the tournament.

The rivalry will be rekindled in 2026, where India and Pakistan are set to face off at least three times. Both teams will play twice in the FIH Pro League before their World Cup encounter. They could play a fourth match too, at the Asian Games later in the year.
