India among 16 nations to take part in ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2025

India alongside 15 other countries from five continents will compete in the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2025, set to take place in Chengdu, China from November 30, the International Table Tennis Federation said.

Six teams will take part in the tournament from the Asian continent: defending champion China, India, Japan, Korea Republic, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong, China.

Europe will be represented by France, Germany, Sweden, Romania, and Croatia, whilst the Americas contingent includes Brazil, United States and Chile. Egypt and Australia will be sole representatives of Africa and Oceania respectively.

“With the Mixed Team event now confirmed for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games programme, this year’s tournament carries unprecedented importance as teams prepare for the format’s historic Olympic debut,” the world body stated.

The winning team will be awarded 2,500 ranking points and will be equally distributed among individual team members based on their share of match wins, directly supporting their individual world rankings and, crucially, their pathways to Olympic qualification.
