Haryana Thunders beats Delhi Dangal Warriors to win Pro Wrestling League 2026 title
Paris Olympics silver medalist Iryna Koliadenko proved her credentials and stepped up when needed most, helping Haryana Thunders clinch the Pro Wrestling League title in Noida on Sunday night, defeating Delhi Dangal Warriors 5-4 in the final of the competition at the Noida Indoor Stadium.
Ukrainian Iryna, a two-time Olympic medallist, registered a dominating 16-0 win against Anjli in the 62kg, the final bout of the season after the teams were tied 4-4 in what was the closest match of the tournament. It was also the most comprehensive victory on a night that saw Delhi repeatedly take lead, only for Haryana, the pre-final favourite and the most dominant team of the season, to level immediately after.
It was also a testament to Haryana’s team selection, with the top three women wrestlers of the competition — Yui Susaki (53kg) and Kajal Dhochak (76kg) being the other two — all belonging to it. While Yui ended her opponent Saarika 15-0 inside the first two minutes, Kajal beat Anastasiya Alpyeyeva 3-1.
Delhi began on a winning note with Turan Bayramov defeating Parvinder 8-2 in the 74kg, his seventh win in as many bouts, making him the most dominant wrestler across categories and genders. Delhi captain Sujeet Kalkal (65kg) overcame a 0-6 deficit to win 8-6 in a remarkable fightback against Tumur Ochir Tulga, scoring seven points in the final power minute with a push out, take down and caution each.
