G. Sathiyan wins men’s singles title at WTT Feeder Vientiane

G. Sathiyan secured the men’s singles title at WTT Feeder Vientiane after defeating Japan’s Ryoichi Yoshiyama in straight sets in the final on Friday.

Sathiyan took the title by defeating Yoshiyama in a comfortable 11-4, 11-6, 12-10 victory. The Japanese player was the first seed in the competition, with Sathiyan seeded second.

The result is another positive result for Sathiyan, having won the men’s doubles along with Akash Pal at WTT Contender Lagos last month. He faced Pal on his run to the final, defeating him in five games in an intense quarterfinal.

The victory is not Sathiyan’s first in a WTT Feeder event, having been the first Indian to win a Feeder — the WTT Feeder Beirut in March 2024. He defeated compatriot Manav Thakkar in the final.
