FIDE Chess Candidates 2026 Standings: Divya, Vaishali rise after first win; Sindarov extends lead after Round 6


India’s R. Praggnanandhaa played out a draw with USA’s Hikaru Nakamura Germany’s Matthias Bluebaum to sit third with three points in the Open section of the FIDE Candidates 2026 after the sixth round on Saturday.

Meanwhile, young Uzbek Javokhir Sindarov extended his sole lead with his fifth win of the tournament, this time beating China’s Wei Yi.

In the Women’s section, Divya Deshmukh and R. Vaishali notched up their maiden wins of this edition. The former beat Bibisara Assaubayeva, while the latter got the better of Kateryna Lagno. Anna Muzychuk took the sole lead after beating China’s Zhu Jiner.
