F1: Sergio Perez and Red Bull agree to part ways ahead of 2025

Sergio Perez and Red Bull have reached an agreement to part ways with immediate effect on Wednesday.

Perez extended his Red Bull contract through 2026 earlier this year, following his career-best season in 2023 when he finished second to team mate and champion Max Verstappen.

Despite finishing second to teammate that year, Perez’s form dipped significantly post-contract renewal. He managed to score a mere nine points in the final eight races of the season, ultimately placing eighth in the drivers’ championship.

Red Bull’s title defence also faltered, with the team finishing third in the constructors’ standings behind McLaren and Ferrari.

The Mexican driver posted a video on Instagram to announce the news.
