F1: Lewis Hamilton wins British Grand Prix for a record 9th time


Lewis Hamilton won the British Grand Prix 2024 with Mercedes AMG at the Silverstone circuit in front of his home fans.

This is his first win since the Saudi Arabia GP in 2021 and it has been 945 days since then.

This is Hamilton’s record 9th win of the British GP. Hamilton started the race second behind teammate George Russell however has finished the race on pole position.

Max Verstappen of Red Bull racing finished second while Lando Norris of McLaren finished third and bagged a spot on the podium.

With this win Hamilton also broke Michael Schumacher’s record for the most wins at a single circuit (9).

Here are all the years Hamilton won the British GP: 2008, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2024.

Hamilton has also extended his own record for most F1 career wins (104).

This was Hamilton’s last home race with Mercedes since he is set to drive for Ferrari next season.
