F1 driver goes karting using fake name during off-season at Daytona track in Milton Keynes
Just a week after the Formula One 2025 season came to an end, Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli was spotted go-karting under a pseudonym at the Daytona Motorsport track in Milton Keynes, UK.
Antonelli, who finished seventh in the standings in his rookie F1 season, entered the Daytona track under the alias of ‘Henry Shovlin’ and kept a low profile prior to racing against local drivers.
The 19-year-old was three seconds faster than the rest of the field in wet conditions and revealed his self only after the session ended.
Antonelli finished with a best time of 1:24.5, which was more than five seconds faster than what fellow F1 driver Alex Albon had posted on this track earlier, but close to 10 seconds slower than Yuki Tsunoda and Isak Hadjar’s best times.
Over the years, the Daytona Motorsport track has hosted several Hollywood A-listers – such as Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock – and F1 legends like Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Martin Brundle, David Coulthard and Damon Hill.
