Formula One enters a new era with the 2026 season to feature major changes in the regulations. With revised power units, active aerodynamic systems and reduced car dimensions, the 2026 season is shaping up to be a massive gamble for the FIA, as the sport enters uncharted waters in terms of innovation.
This marks the first F1 season to feature 11 teams instead of 10, as American manufacturers, Cadillac join the fray. Other team changes include Sauber’s acquisition by Audi who will now race under the moniker of the German manufacturers.
The season begins on March 8 with Australia the first stop on the calendar. The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix (Imola) will not be featured on the 2026 calendar after their contract to host races was left unrenewed for the 2026 season. Its spot will be filled by the Spanish Grand Prix which moves from the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to a new street circuit in Madrid. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will continue to host a race under the name Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
Testing for the 2026 season is underway at the Bahrain International Circuit as teams and drivers gear up for the upcoming season.
