Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto fell short of a historic mixed doubles medal at the BWF Badminton World Championships after suffering defeat in the quarterfinals in Paris on Friday.

Dhruv and Tanisha were looking to clinch India’s first-ever World Championships medal in mixed doubles but Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei ended Indian pair’s campaign as the World No. 4 duo from Malaysia won 21-15, 21-13 in 37 minutes to progress to the semifinals, thus confirming at least a bronze.
