BWF World Tour Finals 2025: Satwik-Chirag pair falters to Liang-Wang in semifinal
Asian Games gold medallists Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty fell to China’s Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang in the men’s doubles semifinal, missing out on a spot in the final of the year-ender BWF World Tour Finals in Hangzhou on Saturday.
The Indian duo took the first game without much trouble but eventually succumbed to a 21-10, 17-21, 13-21 loss to the Chinese pair.
Seeded third, Satwik and Chirag qualified for the semifinals by topping Group B. In their tournament opener, they took down Liang and Wang 12-21, 22-20, 21-14. In their second match, they defeated Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri 21-11, 16-21, 21-11. In their final group-stage fixture, they won 17-21, 21-18, 21-15 against Malaysians Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.
