Australia’s head swimming coach Rohan Taylor reappointed till 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

Australia’s head swimming coach Rohan Taylor was reappointed on Friday to guide the country’s powerhouse team to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Taylor played an important role in steering Australia to a record nine gold and 21 medals overall at the Covid-delayed Tokyo Olympics behind only the United States.

He continued to impress at the Paris Games this year where, under his tutelage, Australia collected seven gold among 19 medals.

“I am honoured to be leading the Olympic programme to LA and privileged to be working with the coaches, athletes and high-performance leadership that make our Dolphins team successful,” he said.

“None of us exist in isolation and the quest for excellence is ongoing across all programs.”

Taylor’s first order of business will be to prepare a team for the World Swimming Championships in Singapore next year, and then the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the leadup towards Los Angeles.
