Asian Championship 2026: Tomar bags gold as India sweeps the podium in men’s 50m Rifle 3P event

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar pipped compatriot Niraj Kumar to gold medal with the last shot of the final as India swept the podium in men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Asian Championship in New Delhi on Thursday.

Kumar had a slender lead of 0.2 over Tomar as the two Indians prepared for the final shot after the elimination of Akhil Sheoran (343.5), who finished with a bronze.

While qualification-topper Kumar hit a 10.3, Tomar shot a 10.7 to defend his gold medal from the previous edition held last year in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. Kumar took silver with a score of 361.8 while Tomar (362) set a World Record.
