Asian Championship 2026: Elavenil wins 10m air rifle gold, Meghana clinches bronze
Elavenil Valarivan defended her title while Meghana Sajjanar grabbed a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air rifle event at the ongoing Asian Championship for rifle and pistol events at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi on Saturday.
Elavenil bagged her third Asian Championship gold in 10m air rifle with a score of 252.0 ahead of Japan’s Misaki Nobata (251.5) and Meghana (229.5).
Arya Borse (209.0), the third Indian in the final, finished fourth.
Elavenil (633.7), Arya (630.3) and Meghana (628.6) also helped India bag the team gold with a combined score of 1892.6 in the qualification round.

Shreya Agrawal (632.0) and Sonam Uttam Maskar (631.9) also had a good day in the office as the markswomen finished third and fourth, respectively in the qualification round. However, they weren’t eligible to compete in the final as they were playing for ranking points.
India has won six gold, three silver and two bronze medals so far in the senior category at the ongoing edition.
