Armand Duplantis sets 13th pole vault WR — All instances of Mondo breaking the world record
Olympic champion Armand Duplantis broke the pole vault world record for the 13th time when he cleared a height of 6.29m at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial — Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix — in Budapest on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old had won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 by clearing a record 6.25m. He has bettered the World Record four times since.
Mondo first leapt past the world record in 2020 when cleared 6.17 metres in Torun, Poland, bettering Renaud Lavillenie’s 6.14 from 2014.
He now equals Sergey Bubka, of the erstwhile Soviet Union, who has broken the world record more number of times (13).
