AAA delegation inspects Kalinga Stadium as potential venue for 2028 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships
Following India’s bid to host the 2028 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, a two-member delegation of the Asian Athletics Association (AAA), comprising competition director C.K. Valson and secretary general A. Shuggumarran, inspected the indoor track of the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
“It was a site visit as India bid for the 2028 Asian Indoor Championships. We looked at hotels, the stadium and the indoor facility. The state government is keen to host it. If everything goes well, then they will host it here,” Valson told Sportstar.
The AAA team, accompanied by Athletics Federation of India (AFI) treasurer B.E. Stanley Jones, met high-level officials of the Odisha Government.
