ISL 2023-24: Which teams will play in Indian Super League playoffs? Format explained
The 10th edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) is reaching its business end and half of the teams are done and dusted with their season, concluding their campaign in the league-phase.
In the final game of the league phase, Mohun Bagan Super Giant beat Mumbai City FC 2-1 to win its maiden League Winners Shield and secure a spot in the AFC Champions League 2.
After the league phase, following is the list of teams who qualified for the playoffs:
- FC Goa
- Odisha FC
- Kerala Blasters
- Chennaiyin FC
The teams above finished in the top six to make it to the knockouts while the top two teams, Mohun Bagan SG and Mumbai City FC, qualified for the semifinals directly.
Playoffs Schedule:
19th April : Knockout 1 – Odisha FC (home) vs Kerala Blasters – (Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar)
20th April: Knockout 2 – FC Goa (home) vs Chennaiyin FC – (Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa)
23rd April: Semifinal 1 (First leg) – Winner of Knockout 1 (home) vs Mohun Bagan Super Giant
24th April : Semifinal 2 (First leg) – Winner of Knockout 2 (home) vs Mumbai City FC
28th April : Semifinal 1 (Second leg) – Mohun Bagan Super Giant (home) vs Winner of Knockout 1 – (Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata)
29th April : Semifinal 2 (Second leg) – Mumbai City FC (home) vs Winner of Knockout 2 – (Mumbai Football Arena, Mumbai)
