Thailand Open 2026 — Satwik-Chirag pair reaches first final this year after hard-fought win
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty made it to their first final this year at the Thailand Open, a BWF World Tour Super 500 event, in Bangkok on Saturday.
Satwik-Chirag, the top-seeded Indian duo, beat the third-seeded Malaysian pair of Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin 19-21, 22-20, 21-16 in a thrilling semifinal which lasted an hour and 22 minutes, extending their head-to-head advantage to 8-2.
World No. 4 Satwik-Chirag last played a final at the China Masters in 2025. Chasing their first title since lifting the trophy at the Thailand Open two years ago, the Indians will be up against either the Indonesian pair of Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin or the Chinese duo of He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu.
