Saloni Kumari of UP breaks women’s indoor 400m National Record
Saloni Kumari of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday broke the women’s indoor 400m National Record at the ongoing National Indoor Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar.
The 21-year-old crossed the finish line in 53.73 seconds, shattering the previous record of 53.89s belonging to Pinki Pramanik.
Her Personal Best in outdoor 400m stands at 57.16s, which she clocked at the Indian Open Athletics Meetings in Sangrur in July 2025.
In men’s Under-20 high jump, Basant of Rajasthan breached the qualification mark for the U20 World Championships by clearing 2.16m.
