Bhosale-Plipuech pair reaches second round at Dubai Championships
India No. 1 Rutuja Bhosale made her WTA 1000 doubles debut on a winning note as she and her Thai partner, Peangtarn Plipuech, defeated Japan’s Eri Hozumi and Chinese Taipei’s Fang-Hsien Wu 7-5, 6-2 to reach the round of 16 at Dubai Championships on Tuesday.
Bhosale, ranked 142 in WTA Rankings, and Plipuech will face fourth-seeded Kazakh-Serbian duo of Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic, the Australian Open finalists, for a place in the semifinals.

Tamil Nadu Golf Federation announces inaugural edition of TNGF Premier League
The Tamil Nadu Golf Federation (TNGF) has announced the inaugural edition of the TNGF Premier League (TPL) 2026, an exclusive five-week team golf championship to be held from February 25 to March 25, 2026.
The tournament is structured as a team competition under the Rules of Golf 2023 and will be played in Stroke Play format with Stableford scoring as the operating basis. A total of 12 teams will compete in the inaugural edition. Each team will comprise 16 players, with two mandatory picks and the remaining 14 players selected through an auction process designed to add strategy and excitement to team formation. All players must participate in at least one qualifying round during the tournament.
Each team will include three Category A players with handicaps ranging from 0 to 12, seven Category B players with handicaps between 13 and 18, and six Category C players with handicaps from 19 to 30.
