HIL 2025-26: Ranchi Royals, Hyderabad Toofans meet in Qualifier 2 for place in final

In a do-or-die encounter, Ranchi Royals will meet Hyderabad Toofans in Qualifier 2 for a place in the final of the Hockey India League at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

Royals got a second chance after suffering a 1-2 loss to Vedanta Kalinga Lancers in Qualifier 1, while Toofans moved in to Qualifier 2 following their 2-0 win over HIL GC in the Eliminator on Friday.

Royals will have to deal with the absence of Josh Beltz, who has fractured his finger, as it will put additional pressure while rotating their overseas players. In a team consisting of Tom Boon, Sam Lane, Mandeep Singh and Manpreet Singh, they need to show a bit of composure and better finishing skills to realise their potential.

Toofans, who rely on their compact structure, will bank on Michel Struttoff, Zach Wallace and Amandeep Lakra to carry forward their brand of attacking hockey.

The winner of the match will take on Lancers in the final on Monday.
