Manush-Diya pair wins WTT Contender Muscat 2026
Manush Shah and Diya Chitale won a thrilling final to clinch the mixed doubles title at the WTT Contender event in Muscat on Friday.
The third-seeded Indian pair of Shah and Chitale took down fourth-seeded Chinese duo of Huang Youzheng and Shi Xunyao 3-2 (11-5, 5-11, 11-5, 5-11, 13-11) in 37 minutes in the summit clash.
It is the third title for the Indian duo, currently ranked eighth in the world. Shah and Chitale have previously won a WTT Feeder event in Beirut in 2024 and a WTT Contender title in Tunis last year.
In 2025, Shah-Chitale also became the first-ever Indian pair to compete at the WTT Finals.

In Muscat, the Indians began their campaign by defeating China’s Chen Yuanyu and Han Feier 3-2 (11-9, 11-9, 6-11, 8-11, 11-8) in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, they registered a 3-1 (9-11, 11-8, 13-11, 11-6) win over Singapore’s Pang Koen and Zeng Jian.
Shah-Chitale pair passed another tricky test in the semifinals against French qualifiers Thibault Poret and Charlotte Lutz with a 3-2 (10-12, 8-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-8) triumph.
Shah also reached the men’s doubles semifinals with Manav Thakkar where the third-seeded Indian pair went down 2-3 (11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 8-11, 7-11) to the second-seeded Chinese duo of Lin Shidong and Huang.
In women’s doubles, Yashaswini Ghorpade and Ayhika Mukherjee lost 1-3 (11-8, 6-11, 4-11, 9-11) to China’s Qin Yuxuan and Zong Geman in the semifinals.
